I Will Fly

Photo by Patrick Hendry on Unsplash
I work best when people don’t suffocate me.

So please get off my back and release your hands from my throat.
I know I know what I’m doing.
But do you know I know what I’m doing?

There’s a lot out there,
You don’t have to handle it all yourself.
I’m here to help.

How can I expect to earn your trust if you do not offer me the chance?

Give me wings and watch me soar!

I’m worth all the investment.
The risk.
The potential injury.

I may still be learning.
But I am not a child.
You are not my babysitter.
Together, we can achieve wonders.
The sky’s the limit,
Or so I imagine.

What I lack in knowledge or skill,
I make up for in determination.

Just give me the chance,
And I will not disappoint.

I will fly.

High above the land.
Far from the ground where I do not belong.
